Doctor Who: 7th Doctor and Ace episodes

Anyone got 7th Doctor and Ace episodes that they recommend?

As mentioned in the other thread, I've just watched Remembrance of the Daleks. What should I watch next?

Paradise Towers ... Lousy episode, but worth watching because it's like no other story... It looks like a 14 year old girl wrote it

Delta and the Bannermen --- another guilty pleasure of mine

Dragonfire --- exit Mel, enter Ace

Battlefield --- worth it because Bessie and the Brig is in it.

Survival --- Noteworthy because it's the last Classic series story ... andf last we see of the master until the 1996 TV movie.

But,
IMO Remembrance of the Daleks is THE BEST.
There's no McCoy stories out there that's better.

I finally saw this for my first time last month, it's ok.

Worth it just for that, not exactly a deep episode but it's starts the Ace mystery.

Hmmmm....

Curse of Fenric is neat; but you can see how they pared back some stuff. A few scenes feel cropped, and there are some bits that never quite go anywhere. They sort it out in the novelization. After seeing this one I kinda felt that there was a debate going on with the crew producing the show as to where they wanted to go: one off adventures like the older ones, or a continuing story with subtext and such. (The new ones kinda felt to me how they WANTED to do the McCoy ones, but for some reason couldn't.)

....and Remembrance of the Daleks is one of the greatest episodes of anything ever! Cosmic powered Dalek whackin' baseball bat! WOOOO!!!!

I find that goes on ALOT during the McCoy era, Ghost Light is one of the worst. The explaination for the story seems rushed and a lot is left out.

I'm not a fan of Ghost Light at all.

For me, it has so many things going against it.

Story aside, from a production standpoint it was not a good idea to downgrade the video used and then a film a mostly dark story with mood lighting.
The viewer is left with a lousy grainy picture through most of it.

From a story point of view it was kind of hard to follow and the end didn't really have a good payoff.

I'd put Ghost light in the same catagory as Davison's Mara stories.

I would say battlefield, Curse of fenric, Ghost Light, and silver nemisis,

Ghostlight is very much in the style of the baker era gothic stories like pyramids of mars, talons of weng chiang and horror at fang rock, so is always a favourite of mine
