    SMDM appreciation

So I just recently rewatched a few of the first season episodes.
Man I love this show still today.I didn't really care so much for the first three movies they turned him into a bionic James Bond, but the TV series really rocked.

Something I noticed now that I never paid attention to before was the little details they put into the show.
A couple scenes in particular they have Steve running for a long period of time(as usual...LOL) and He has sweat markings on his chest back and left armpit but none on the right, due to the bionic arm.
I never noticed that as a kid.

Now one thing that bugged me was he was able to lift things like cars and such with the bionic legs and arms...LOL
He has no core bionics such as a back so if he used his arm to and legs to lift the car his spine would give up like a floppy chicken...But I love it.

I also liked the fact that Steve could kill if he had to,unlike the hulk or the
    A-team.

Loved watching the day of the robot with john Saxon.

    .
    That always bugged me too

Was just watching the Bionic Woman the other day and she picked up a tractor.

I was like, no freaking way could she do that without breaking her back

That's kind of what he was in the book. He even has a cyber-dolphin disguise at one point. The extra arms they did for the toy are reminiscent of the book too.

I seem to recall them trying to address that in one of the 80s reunion movies -- someome mentioned something about having a steel-reinforced spine . . . anyone else remember anything about it?

And I agree with Don -- ther first thtree movies are a lot more like the books. I've often said if they were to try to reboot the show, they ought to try moving down that road, just to create something different from the original show but true to the character's roots.

I look at the three movies as the writers trying to get the character properly polished for a television series. It was a process, but they found the right combination by the time the show started. Isn't it amazing though how something so cutting edge at the time is something Hollywood can't seem to duplicate today? I still think the slow motion action is VERY effective and was unwisely overlooked when they did a remake of the Bionic woman. It gives dramatic flare to the story telling. It's a hero moment like lightening hitting Billy Batson to become Shazam. Remove that and you lose alot of the drama in the concept.

              I agree 100%
The slow motion was and is part of what made the show so great to me its as if you believed he was really going that fast.
