THis was the most entertaining movie I've seen in a decade aside from the LOTR films. I am not a TOS purist and have not seen every episode. That was a little ahead of me, but I did like it very much. Next Gen was cool, but really didn't take off till a few seasons later. DS9 was awesome in my eyes. I never really watched any other Trek aside form a random Voyager episode.

That being said, I am a moderate to above average Trek fan. I really thought JJ did a great job maintaining the spirit of the Trek franchise. He may have muddied up a few aspects, but overall I think he's a Trek fan, and he put his love into this film. A few elements could have been done differently or cut altogether, but the end result is a Star Trek film franchise that can carry for the next 10-15 years.

Let's face it, Abrams extended the life of Star Trek. Lucas euthanized his bread and butter, or at the very least he severely damaged it's life expectancy.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
