I liked both Ron Ely and Mike Henry. I watched that 30s Tarzan last weekend. Pretty good. But I'd like to put in my vote for whoever voiced the Filmation character.

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I really like Henry too, mostly because he didn't do the whole "Me Tarzan" schtick. Too bad he got attacked by a chimp and it ended his tenure.

Joe Lara did a great (sadly low budget) syndicated show in the 1990s that was more like the books than anything I had seen before. It explored other areas of the Burroughs mythology like Peciludar.

Robert Ridgely, a stalwart actor who also voiced Thundarr and Flash Gordon. One of his last roles was the Colonel in "Boogie Nights".

I'm not sure he was the best, per se, but, to me, Ron Ely IS Tarzan.

I like Ron Ely and even enjoyed Lex Barker, but Johnny Weismuller will always be Tarzan to me.

Certainly the series got silly, but who wouldn't want a treehouse like that with a elephant to operate the elevator.

I love Tarzan's New York Adventure. What a hoot.

Put me down for Ron Ely as well.
My Dad grew up with Johnny Weismuller but I grew up with Ron Ely.
I just loved how well he played the character and didn't come across as corny or silly.
The opening titles where the camera zooms in on him standing at the top of the waterfall and he does the Tarzan yell is simply awesome.

Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

For the most handsome Tarzan (and OK I loved these shows as well), I choose:

                              Wolf Larsen:

and from the WB in 2003:

                              Travis Fimmel:
