In Empire Strikes Back when Luke is down in the snow and see's the vision of Ben Kenobi, what Ben tells Luke contradicts what we learn in the Phantom Menace:
      Obi-Wan: "Luke... Luke!"
      Luke: "Ben?"
Obi-Wan: "You will go to the Dagobah system."
      Luke: "Dagobah system?"
Obi-Wan: "There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me."
This is just one of many mistakes that Lucas makes in the first three Star Wars films
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

Originally Vader was supposedly around or in his 50's when he died but now he is around 40.

Its a much easier one for me to swallow personally...Yoda did, after all,
preside upon teaching every Jedi that passed through in some capacity.

All 3 prequels let me down.

Back in the old days (the 80's) I imagined my own prequels as to what happened.

None of the filmed prequels was anything like I imagined and its why I hate them.

I guess that's why I hate ALL prequels.

                They steal our imaginations.

"Back in the day" my interior prequel monologue went like this:

The surviving jedi (at the time of ANH) were cloned from jedi masters to create an interstellar protectorate force... like the GLs. Not all of the clones turned out good, though some turned out moralistically better...
In my mind, Ben Kenobi was the name of the master OB1 was cloned from, and OB1 was a clone designation much like the droid naming system. Privately for me the cooler story will always have been that Ben Kenobi fell to the dark side, and OB1 was the more virtuous clone that rose up to battle him and won during the clone wars. Vader just happened to win out over any of his enemies. So I always imagined a kind of a sad soft spot for Vader from OB1, because he knew what it was like to destroy yourself. Also, the deeper philosophical "essence" of Ben Kenobi was redeemed by virtue of the higher moral conscious version winning out. Conversely, everything that was a Vader identity in the universe was now tarnished and corrupted by his dark side winning - and in my mind OB1 was trying not just to help the battle of good and evil, but to right the legacy of an old friend through the next generation of offspring.
That story also brought different meaning to Luke's battle in the dagobah cave for me, and in the play between good vs. evil in Vader because really, he could have gone any way - like anyone.
So my play scenarios also involved wondering if Ben Kenobi tried to turn back to the light - maybe he sacrificed himself in the final battle, knowing that OB1 was in the right? Was Vader too ambiguous or confilcted for one side of him to be stronger, and that's why he almost died, why he required the suit? Would that be an echo of how OB1 confronted vader in ANH? Would OB1 make his sacrifice in hopes that the act could reach Vader, as well as setting events in motion?
Anyway that's how it sounded when I was eight.

But hey. Now we have Jar-Jar to keep us warm at night.
