That reminded me a bit of this ABC 1978 promo.

OMG! That is SOOOOOO bad! It was just a little boring at first and then the song started. Wow...that's just....wow... that's really cheesy and not in a good way.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I think that intro would have set a whole different tone for the show and would have sunk it fast.

The end of it sounded like they were going for a James Bond feel. But, like Steve Austin's test craft, they crashed and burned. Badly.

            To cleanse the palette...
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

A little trivia, the theme is actually sung by Dusty Springfield

That was just plain stupid and what makes it even worse is that the version that we all know become so memorable and iconic

It doesn't start out bad but it ends terribly but now I know why some of the old merchandising carries this perspective title
