Y'know, that line-up just might work. I would substitute either Dana Carvey or the actor who plays McGruber tho for Gene/Jean. I think they would have to re-think the style of humor tho. Like Mikey observed, it's almost cut from the same cloth as When Things Were Rotten and Holmes & YO-YO. They have dated some-what in style.

Yup, that's him. Don't think I ever watched that, but yeah, that's him. He was the werewolf hunter in an Buffy episode, and the demon who brought back Holtz in season 3 or 4 of Angel, and one of the crooked cops in Payback with Mel Gibson. And a dozen other roles.

He looks so much like his Dad.

I like Buck Henry's dry humor and take on things, so if the show was to be re-done, I would hope it would have that. My guess the go to guy to replace Richard Benjamin would be Steve Carell.

I would just like to see it return. I think its really funny with better effects and writing like can be done today this show would of been a hit.I watched it straight thru and geeked out the whole time.

I still like Quark. Not as much as when I was seven. I'd hate to see it remade though. Wil Ferrel as Quark, Adam Sandler as Gene, Jack Black as Ficus.... *shudder*

"Who would play the roles now..??" was the original question..?

Well, I just saw a glimpse of Richard Benjamin on another series, he STILL looks pretty much the same. The biggest regret is Richard Kelton (Ficus) passing on so quickly after the series.. (apparently carbon monoxide poisoning from working on his car in a closed garage when he was making 'How the West Was Won'..). I saw him in a henchman role on 'Charlies Angels' a few years back, done probaby about the same year. He was my favorite.

Best episode..? The two-part "All the Emperor's Quasi-Norms", guest staring 'Wild Wild West's Ross Martin as the evil Emperor..!

And there's a guy running around who must be his son who does TV guest work and bit parts in movies.

I loved this when I was a kid, but the only thing I remember about it now was the FX shot of the ship picking up the garbage. I've since read up on it and know that Richard Benjamin was in it and I think Buck Henry was involved with it as well. I should grab a copy and rewatch it.

I thought for one terrifying moment that the character from Trek Deep Space Nine had been given his own show.

Loved it as a kid ..... As an adult I borrowed the DVD's but could not sit through the first few stories.
    Thought it was kinda boring.

For me it's one of those shows that are best remembered through kid's eyes and not seen again as an adult -- I put When Things Were Rotten and Holmes and YoYo in this same catagory.
