An article on Doctor Who's Companions

It's not really totally in depth or complete, but for someone like me who is not completely steeped in Doctor Who lore, I found it informative.

Newsarama.com : Flashback Friday: THE DOCTOR's Companions Through the Ages

I had completely forgotten about Turlough. Of the Davidson era episodes I watched, it was a good source of drama to have him around waiting to kill the Doctor. Didn't he have some kind of relationship with the Brigadier as well?

Zoe seems interesting for the times. A female Astrophysicist from the future!

I'd never heard of Adam Mitchell before either. Which Doctor did he travel with?

Adam Mitchell was a very forgettable semi companion that only lasted 2 episodes during the Eccleston 2005 year.

I only barely consider Adam Mitchell to be a companion. 2 stories?

Kamelion was more of a companion that Mitchell!
