    a sound of thunder

Older obscure movie based on a Ray Bradbury novel. The movie I thought was decent but the CGI at time destroyed the movie. There was a water monster that looked totally plastic. It was too bad because there were some ape-like creatures that were well done. I just love the whole "ripple" effect the movie shows. Anyone else a fan of this movie?

I actually went and saw it in theatres. I think I was the only one. The original story is where the whole "butterfly effect" idea really got brought out into the mainstream.

I think it was actually quite well done. Much better than the version they did on the old Ray Bradbury theatre.

That said, it came out in like 2004 or something and the CGI was more 1996ish. If you can get past that, which I had no real problem doing, it made for a pretty neat little movie.

I heard it was shelved for several years, which is why the CGI ended up looking bad by the time it was released.

I have it in my collection. It has it flaws but it has a lot more going for it then a lot of the crap out there.

I have to agree with lepage here. I don't own the movie but I'm a fan of the material. A Sound of Thunder is a great story.

I also loved the ripple effect they used.

Sounds interesting. I loved to read Bradbury books as a kid.
