    No US Torchwood

Was just over to TNI and they have it that Fox won't be doing a US version of Torchwood.

Yeah, there's no FOX Torchwood although BBC is still looking for a US partner. Considering that Fox seems to kill anything that developes an ardent fanbase, that's a good thing.

I like the original Torchie and wasn't looking up to a US version so i'm cool with it not being remade here.

Hope the British one continues though

Watching reruns now, never liked the idea of a US Torchwood. Nothing wrong with the original, why copy it?

There really doesn't need to be a US Torchwood.

I can't think of a single US remake of a UK show that has improved on the original. Not Doctor Who, not Red Dwarf, not Life on Mars.

MAYBE The Office (for some folks, I'm too big a Ricky Gervais fan to feel that way).

Thank GOD! I'd like to see more real TORCHWOOD. I'm not sure what the high concept of it was anyway. How would you distinguish it as a TORCHWOOD remake, anyway? I mean LIFE ON MARS at least had a sort of nugget that you could say "Modern cop transported to the seventies". What would TORCHWOOD be "Pretty people shagging and occasionally an alien. Oh, and Jack will have a go at anything that walks"

I would have preferred a US Primeval. The UK one slowly disintergrated.

              Yay!

The bleakness and brutality is a big part of what makes Torchwood what it is, and I couldn't see an American version keeping it. A happy ending on a Torchwood episode? Pfeh!

I really couldn't get into Primeval.
