I WAS a fan of Alf. Have season one on DVD. Then I found out about Willy's private exploits...I cannot watch that show anymore without being disgusted by that monster.
Didn't know about the Willy exploits and don't really want to. But the show was great! Even now I can sometimes forget that ALF was just a simple hand puppet. They did awesome work on that character.
I never watched the live-action show much but I saw a cartoon episode about Jack and the Beanstalk and thought it was awesome.
Years or decades later I rented an Alf cartoon DVD and the quality was not the same. I did not rent the episode I thought I saw either, so now I don't know what it was.
But I like Alf in general. I can still hear him saying, from a commercial perhaps, "Why did you guys cancel Star Trek?"

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Message, Spock?

I liked the live action show better than the Saturday morning cartoon. I do have the special "Alf's Christmas" on tape.
