    Victory of the Daleks theory

Just watched this and without going deeply into the plot, I honestly think Moffat is rebooting the whoniverse. Why? Because Amy doesn't know what a Dalek is, she's never seen one and the Doctor gets pretty upset about it.

The whole "Cracked universe" thing feels a lot like when Superboy punched the DC universe and it seems that some of what RTD did is going away.

Seeing as the show is about time travel, I'm actually OK with this, every episode confirms my good feelings about this new direction.

Possibly the strongest episode of this season thus far, interesting story and outcome. I can see some griping about the outcome of this one, particularly some design isssues but I found them creepy looking.

I didn't watch the episode yet but I did do some internet photo searching.

The "new Daleks" look a lot like the Supreme Dalek from Planet of the Daleks - which was also a re-used Peter Cushing Dalek.

I think the new Daleks look like a Dalek and a Honda Civic had a baby. No liking them. But I guess they had to do something after painting the others green...

I can dig people not liking them, they're tinkering with an iconic look and that's always problematic. The new look doesn't really bug me, probably because they're not spiders...

If that's case,I wonder if they'll do the same with the Cybermen? Because the ones they show during all of the different previews and specials they ran yesterday on BBC America, they're not silver. Looks more like bronze.

I think the Daleks ar just following the new spring and summer collection, which is all about colour, colour, colour!
Just add a little scarf, some eye-liner, and they're drop-dead gorgeous, baby!

Yeah i thought it was a strong episode and good story, not too worried about the new Dalek design, their voices seem alot more scarier also

I can tell you this... I'm interested.

I *want* to keep watching and see what's going on.

Silence Falls? The Universe is cracked? Wedding? New Tardis? The Doctor meets the chick from the Library that knew his real name?

I came into the episode expecting to hate the new shaking Doctor and new young companion.... and I left wanting to see more. I'm intrigued by the mysteries.

All in all... that's not a bad thing. They must have done SOMETHING right. Even my husband doesn't hate the new Doctor.

You could be onto something there Bri, it would be a way of Moffat portraying his vision of the Whoniverse without having to incorporate any of the RTD hoohah.

I think the cracks are connected to Amy or the Tardis regeneration in some way and they eventually cause the Pandorica (a kind of Pandora's box) to open, spilling out all of time and space, including a lot of the Doctor's enemies.

Moffat at least is bringing back River Song this season, (And I loved this episode) a lot of ol'skool moments are in this season of Doctor Who, Like the look of the outside of the Tardis, Smith is a great Doctor, and his direction of the role isn't like Tennant's (you cannot really compare any one Doctor to another without starting a debate).

So in closing I'll say I love the direction of this season, and can't wait till next Sat.

Watched it again last night and one of the great little touchs for me was Churchill not recognizing the Doctor. That's always been a problem with me and the series, with the Doctor regenerating all the time why doesn't he run into more confusion?
