New Who ep!- no real spoilers

Just saw Matt Smith's first story.

Can't say I'm very impressed with the story, they still think that a lot of noise, chases and a loud soundtrack will smoothen it all out (which it doesn't).
Smith does OK, so let's give him a chance.
The Tardis looks different inside, but I expected a more classic look, which it isn't.

My opinion: nothing special so far.
Don't want to say more, as not to spoil it for you guys.....

Is this the new intro ?

If so, i'm let down the rumors of Smith's face being in the intro wasn't true.

Also, it seems too ... I dunno, it reminds me of a kids show intro

He has the same "hyperactive" thing like Tennant. A bit OTT. Very confident.
I think they're going to pass over the regeneration pretty quickly, and make him "the man in charge".
        But he did OK...

Honestly, imo that intro sucks and is way worse than even McCoys

Things I hate about it ....

            1. The theme song (the do-do-do) part should NOT have been altered.
            Even RTD didn't alter it.

            2. The tunnel doesn't look like a vortex ... It looks more like it's made of cotton candy.

            3. No face on the intro ?

            4. The Doctor Who wording with TARDIS "logo" looks stupid ...

            5. As said above, the whole thing looks like a Disney Channel kid's show intro.

            I'm not impressed at all.

Never thought i'd wish for the return of RTD

Don't care all that much about the intro anyway.
I just wish the story had been better.....

I never want to see this episode again, EVER!!!!!!!

Awful does not even begin to describe it.

Silly, stupid, childish, yeah that describes it.

Lets hope the Daleks kill em all.

                  Nice review.....

                  Can't say I disagree, though...

Ok, I just finishing watching the first episode on youtube.

I'll try to keep the theme of this thread going and not give away spoilers ....

First off, I think Smith is ok ... or at least passable.
He does remind me of Tennant a little but he's different enough that he's not a clone.

The story seemed about like a mediocre Tennant story ... A bit juvenile and in some ways reminded me more of Sarah Jane Adventures episode.

The new TARDIS inside is ok ... Nothing great but like Smith himself, passable.

Worst thing about this episode was the lousy special effects ......
Did RTD take his effects team with him when he left ?
I sure hope the effects improve on future storys.

                      To sum up ....
It was "ok" and of course i'll keep watching it but i'm not exactly jumping for joy from what i've seen so far.

Was it just me or did the hospital look like the one from Pertwee's first story?

I thought it was ok for a regeneration story, nothing special.
Matt Smith was good, as was Karen Gillan.

What have they done to the theme though? It doesn't even sound like the Doctor Who theme.
I agree that McCoys synth version was bad but at least the tune was the same as the previous ones.

As for the effects, the budget for this series has been reduced quite a bit from RTD's.

I liked it overall, it had a lot of introductions to jam in there so I wasn't expecting an epic tale.

Can't be hard on Smith, I think he's going to be a memorable Doctor.

Oh and I watched "Rose" last night as well, juvenile with poor FX, it's kind of funny. I remember my father in law (a 30 year fan) gave up when Micky got eaten by a trash can and it burped. He said "this is crap for kids"!
