    Question about Ultraman TV series...

I was in Target the other day and was checking out the DVD section and came across a 2 DVD set for Ultraman TV Series. It had 20 episodes on it and it also could be seen with the original Japanese Language with English Subtitles and you could also view it dubbed. My questions are these:

    1) is the 2 DVD set worth it?
    2) is there a larger set with maybe the complete series?

    Thanks.

Yes it is very worth it. It was an official release from BCI eclipse. The show only ran for 36 eps, so 2 dvd box sets exist. It sounds like you found just vol 1 (with vol 2 being the remainder).

If I were you I would grab it because BCI/Eclipse went out of business a few months back and the remaining stock of their items are dropping in price.

If you like Ultraman you might be interested to know they also released

Iron King as well as Super Robot Red Baron

I am not aware of any larger combo set

Thanks for the info...the 2 DVD set was only 5 bucks. Guess I'll have to make a little side trip tomorrow.

WOW that is cheap! For a while the he-man and the masters of the universe sets (also bci) at bestbuy were like 10$ (normally around $40 or so), now they are pretty much gone

it is a shame really because BCI was going in a good direction listening to what the fans wanted (and something very few companies do) and their releases were all well done

funny thing, i paid 50 smackers for the same set like 2 years ago, be forewarned the sound track will jump between english/Japaneese in a few spots, this is because the original audio sources were damaged. Not too big a deal at $5, but at $50 ugh!!!

I picked up Volume one cheap a while back and it's definitely worth it. Now if I can just find the same deal on the Red Baron set.

I sitll have my vhs tv tapes of Ultraman. One of these days I am going to go through the BCI dvds again and then see if I can "fix" any of the missing english audio using my TV recorded tapes
