It could work now because of less censorship but I still think the killer angle would get boring quick.

It would be like a James Bond TV series

Bond is fine in moderation (1 movie per few years), but a Bond TV series would bite

That is great news! It seems like we've been waiting forever.
In the book Steve wasn't a bad person necessarily, he was just doing what Spec Ops people do sometimes, which is kill people. I think his bionic arm was on his left side and he couldn't see from his bionic eye, it just took pictures and such. Caidin went into a lot of detail about his construction, which was like reading pages of Geordi LaForge explaining what type of energy field is holding the Enterprise. In other words, it's mostly techno-babble mixed with anatomical details. I read once that Caidin insisted an actual bionic person had been created some time in 1960's.

This would be terrific if it pans out. I thought that the legal blocks to DVD release on the bionic shows might be solved long before the legal blocks to releasing Batman 66.

Yeah, a lot of those types of adventure novels tend to fixate, many of them have paragraphs of rifle details!

Caidin did a radio interview in Toronto back in the 1990s, he came off pretty kooky.

Yeah, I was surprised to see him on the show, I did a double take: "Holy crap, it's Lee Majors!". (BTW, "Community" is a great show)

Welcome news about the show's rights possibly finally getting untangled. I've held off on picking up the Region 2 DVDs so far, I'm much prefer a domestic set.

Just caught this. OMG! I am all over this as well. I have the first two seasons on PAL DVD and they look great. I just finished the 2nd season not too long ago. I also have the full series on bootleg, but I just haven't been able to make myself watch those. Now I can trash them!

Yes, I too have waited for a U.S. release as opposed to caving and buying the overseas ones. I came close to pullingthe trigger many, many times but my Sci-Fi Channel epis are in such high quality I figured I'd get my use out of them while I wait. It's just funny that I JUST finished copying all my VHS tapes to DVD when this news breaks! LOL! I literally just finished dubbling with "Bionic Ever After?" being the last thing I dubbed just last night!

I guess things work that way sometimes! I too can't wait to have them sitting beside my Wonder Woman and Incredible Hulk series!

It was the 6% faster audio driving me nuts that made me really reluctant to get those PAL sets. Now it looks like I might not have to.

I've heard the 6% faster talk before.

                      My question .....
Is it just the way our players are reading the PAL discs or do English people really like their movies sounding like the Chipmonks ?

If you're in the UK and you put the TV on will everything be 6% faster compared to NTSC countries ?

I really can't remember much but some small memories of the show, but if they come out that's great. I have been very tempted to buy the bootlegs but very hesitant.

If the shows are coming back to rerun, odds are pretty good its going to be on RTV. They are pretty much all Universal shows.

Film is shot at 24 frames per second. A PAL signal is 25 frames per second. NTSC is 30 frames per second, and 24 fps films are adapted to NTSC's frame rate through a kind of complicated process called 3:2 pulldown. But for PAL, a film is just sped up from 24 fps to 25 fps. This is 6% faster, practically invisible to the human eye, and inaudible to most people except the lucky people like me who are sensitive to it.

In the UK, films and US TV shows would likely be 6% faster, but TV shows and programs specifically shot for UK audiences would probably be shot at the proper PAL frame rate so there would be no speed up. Most people probably don't notice the speedup on the 24/30 fps sourced material, and those that are susceptible likely don't even notice it now if they grew up watching PAL TV and videos.
