The constant Star Wars References on 30 Rock

You'll have to excuse me if this is old news, but I just got into the show when I was channel surfing the other day and saw Tina Fey dressed up as Princess Leia to get out of Jury Duty.

Of all the ones I've watched, it seems like there is a Star Wars or similar nerd movie reference (TRON!) in every single episode.

I just about fell out of my chair laughing so hard this week when I saw the funeral of Rip Torn's character, where he looks like Han in Carbonite.

Fey is a big Sci fi nerd, the highlight for me was Selma Hayeck in a form fitting "Frak!" shirt.

"Community" is another NBC show that uses a lot of nerdy references, the Bert and Ernie sketch recently had me on the floor.

30 Rock is awesome and has tons of references like that. Fey's character even has a big French theatrical poster of "Planet of the Apes" hanging in her office that you can see once in awhile. I don't know much about Fey personally, but kind of figured she was a big nerd based on all the references in the show (I guess nerd can easily recognize their own kind ). And oh yeah, Community has some nice references too.

THAT WAS SO AWESOME! I particularly loved the one unused hand each of them had.

The best part of the show is the credits where they seem to just let Abed and Troy improvise. I'd be totally entertained if the show was just those two riffing for a half an hour.

Community is the best new show of the season.
