Opinions about Mind Meld DVD - Nemoy/Shatner interviews

I watched this DVD the other night and had some mixed feelings about what both Nemoy and Shatner had to say about the other members of the 60's show. I felt their opinions were more than a little condescending, self-serving, and childish. I found it interesting how they could paint all of these scenarios which suggested how dysfunctional the supporting cast was but, in the same breath, laugh about how Nemoy refused to talk to Shatner for a full week after he had cracked a joke during a episode which was shot right after Shatner had returned from his dad's funeral. WHAT? Nemoy thinks the supporting cast had personal issues, yet he gives himself a pass for having a temper tantrum on Shatner when he should have been extending his understanding? Oh brother... Not only that but Nemoy was also in counseling during that time because he didn't like how his "craft" was being disrepected from the studio? Good God. How bloated an ego! I felt like I was sitting in on a gossip session between two cry babies. And I could certainly see why the other cast members didn't hold them in high regard.

I've seen that DVD, too. They all have egos, just only two of them got to talk about it. I don't mean that in a bad way, though. It is sort of the nature of showbiz. We want to see these guys as the heroes they played, but they aren't really and as actors some believe the way to stay on top is to not give an inch to anyone else.
    It's all good!

      I actually liked the movie...
I thought it was a very intimate interview with the two aged friends.
Some parts they came off pretentious and some parts they came off even more human.
The drinking problem nimoy had during those years the death of shatners wife and the death of deforest.
Regarding the supporting cast I'm sure that as far as they(nimoy, shat) were concerned the show revolved around the trio of shatner,Nimoy and De forest.
Ironically it was ultimately the three that formed a close personal relationship with each other.
Due these two have big egos...?
Absolutely however I find Nimoy to be slightly more humble than shatner.
And to top it off the movie only cost me $2.50 so you can't go wrong there...LOL

I really enjoyed that DVD and it gave me their perspective, like it or not, the other members of the cast were essentially part timers. The big three were the stars of the show and I think that made a few chips on shoulders in the supporting cast as well.

They both definitely have egos but they're also iconic actors, it was refreshing to see them just let it hang out. They're obviously good friends, that couldn't have been faked.

I watched this when it originally came out. I thought it was pretty cool just seeing them hanging out and candidly discussing this stuff.

I just recently watched Nimoy on Shatners Raw Nerve and that was kind of cool too but it was too short to really get into anything in depth.
