I was just looking up the Logan blog sites yesterday. I would like to run through the series again. I recall at the time it being a sizeable let down from the movie, but palatable.
Bluntly, it was your typical 70s sci-fi series that used the window dressing of the feature film to basically be a 'chase series' (like POTA, which I actually liked a lot more).
Y'know, most of the excitement in the premiere episode, then just a lot of chasing around for the rest of the series.
I do recall press interviews with Heather that she was looking for ways to come across more sexy later on the series both in character and in her outfit.., to dispell the 'brother-sister' relationship the network (and thus, the writers) were imposing between her and Gregory Harrison, to actually spice up the series.
I recall David Gerrold wrote an ep for it, but was lambasting the studio for it's decision on the series (written in his Starlog column at the time..). Instead of the studio going for a movie sequel ("Logan's World") to the reasonably-successful first movie, thus banking on 'stronger name recognition' to sell the series from, the studio went straight for the TV payoff and lost out: "Who is this Logan?", "Why is he running", etc.., being the typical response from audiences and sponsors.
It was interesting to see the 'hovercraft' idea around the same time Star Wars was perfecting it with their landspeeders.

Like David says, instead of continuing on from the movie, it merely piggybacks off the concept. Logan and Jessica leave the stock footage city of domes in five minutes, find the ruins of Washington (no old man) then find a car, an adroid pal.
Francis pursues Logan in his own car, he now works for the "elders" that run the city. Lots of "guys on horseback with laser guns" kind of stuff and it seems the writing staff had absolutely no idea what a computer did. By the second to last episode, Logan and Jessica began to get romantically involved which really was lacking prior to this.
Each week they find a new city or fall out shelter and solve problems. It's pretty formulaic but for some reason I can't not love it.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

Ohhhh, ok
That's totally different than what I had thought.
I had the idea that Logan and Jessica went back to the city (as seen in the movie) but instead of them rescuing everyone in 10 minutes, I thought the series was them UNDERCOVER rescuing people one at a time each show.Comment

I think that was one of the ideas that was pitched and I've also heard tell that Francis would have joined the Run in the latter half of season 1. Most likely had the series continued, they'd have gone back to the City of Domes over and over again.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

There were a couple of eps where they went back or were nearly tricked into entering an ambush at the City of Domes. I still like this series a lot. Managed to get very decent bootlegs last year off the web. Checked the site and I think they stopped selling them.Comment

How many know that she posed nude in Playboy in 1973? I have the issue somewhere. Playboy made a big deal out of it because she was one of the Von Trapp kids in The Sound Of Music (they called the spread something like "The Tender Trapp"). And she was promoting the movie "Ssssss"Comment

I don't recall ever watching the show either...I think I might have seen part of one on SciFi or something and stopped watching pretty quickly because it was so bad. I'd give it a shot though if I could watch from the beginningComment
