Depressed and then disappeared? I don't like the sound of that. I hope I'll be proven wrong tho

I'm sure the double entendre for a dopey boneheaded character was a big chuckle to the writers - especially when they got it by network censors

Great name but not for a show like Growing pains, I bet that was one of the reasons they took him out

If it was...then that's a real measure of the writers' sensibilities.
Well, AFAIC the show was real weak in the writing dept. anyways.

In the show wasn't his real name Sylvester Stabbone.
It was a play off sylvester stallone, his nickname was Boner.

I never even knew the character's real name but the pubescent connotation of the name well predated the tv series whatever justification they came up with for it

I agree it was a weak show even by 80's sitcom standards (and that is a very low standard) just a knock off of the Family ties model

I agree, but for some reason I still liked it more then Family ties

I didn't watch it that often, but I sort of remember the kid named 'Boner'.

I never knew that he was Walter Koenig's kid (mostly because the credits rolled too fast!)

This is sad news. I've met Walter Koenig in person...he's a hell of a nice Guy. I hope they find his son soon(and healthy)
