    Ultraman Series one

Picked up the Ultraman series one for five bucks at Target Yesterday. Great Cheesy effects. Restored with great vibrant color with both American and Japanese audio track.

If you're a fan of this you gotta pick it up....Hopefully Ultraseven my fav will be released someday.

          ULTRAMAN!!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!!

I've always loved these, and had a few on tape that'd been played to the point of unwatchability. The DVDs are very nice; it was great to finally be able to pause and see details. (For custom figures and models mostly.) I got the whole set for $30 a few months back, and can't recommend 'em enough.

I'm surprised how well they hold up, too. They did a lot of experimenting back then, and you get a good assortment of episode types in the series. UltrasSeven continued this as well, and yeah; Seven is another great series. (I kinda like it a smidge better than Ultraman 'cos the monsters are weirder.) Ultra Q was pretty good too.

I've been meaning to check out Ultra Q. I've heard it's basically like The Twilight Zone with kaiju. Is that an accurate description?

I picked up the first season of Ultraman for cheap as well. Good cheesy fun, my son enjoyed it too. Can't go wrong with big monsters and costumed guys beating the crap out of each other.

More or less. Not all the monsters are ginat, and there's a team of recurring characters; reporters who keep running into these things.

Yes, I love this series. Did you get both sets? Or just the first set. Gotta have them all. SOunds like you paid a full price, I ended up paying full price when they came out but glad I did. Love the restoration they did and finally watching it clear.
I agree, Ultra Seven and GoRangers would be ideal to see released on DVD. Not holding my breath for GoRangers.

You never know. We're about 8-10 years off a Power Rangers nostalgia wave, and I could see the originals being released as part of it.

I picked up the complete series for about $15.00 last year, got to watch the first couple of episodes, and noticed in some episodes it would switch from English to Japanese ever so often. but, other than that, I enjoy watching this corny show.

They did thet when there was missing or unusable bits in the English soundtrack; or if the scene was cut in the English version and no dialogue existed. Weird bit: I had a bootleg set that DID have a soundtrack for some of these cuts. My old one looked to be off a really old version of the film; like first run copies or somesuch.

Giving this a bump because I saw the complete series at Dollar General for ten bucks.
