Script excerpt of the fabled Memory wall sequence from Star Trek TMP

TrekWeb.com - Star Trek The Motion Picture : Remembering The Memory Wall From the Film's Shooting Script

Most remember the way this sequence was supposed to be from the Marvel Comics adaption.

Along with the pictures that exist from the sequence (one memory wall sequence picture graced the back of a ST:TMP Peter Pan record)

Hopefully, on a future release they can unearth some scenes of the memory wall sequence (on the first DVD, they show test footage with an empty suit on the set they made) as well as the security guard getting zapped by the light probe.

WOW.. Thanks much for the link. I still love this movie; I've only got the 'director's cut', which has some deleted footage, but not nearly all of it.

I have a feeling those of us Trekkers old enough to remember it first coming out will always cherish it more than the later generations of fans, if for nothing else, but the memories of how cool it was seeing everyone back together for the first time..

The Comic Book adaptaion by Marvel Comics from 1979 has the sequence intact-pretty much as scripted and drawn in color. It also has deleted scenes such as Spock crying. It's a good source of what was cut out and how it could have been depicted.

I wonder if the tape would still play, but I have the VHS release of the "longer edition" that has the Spock crying scene in it and a few other things. I have been so enamored of the director's DVD that it is the only thing I watch when I want to see TMP.
        It's all good!

Spock crying is in the director's edition and most of the scenes in the longer edition are included as deleted scenes in the second disc.

After all those space adventures with no space suits it sounds like they were trying to make up for it. I would have lliked it.

( well Tholian Web nonwithstanding . . and I think they just had force feild belts on the cartoon) +
