The Black Hole and Tony Perkins

Tony Perkins was a good actor but you wouldn't know it from The Black Hole. I couldn't believe how monotone most of his performance is in this.

I wonder if it had something to do with the large amount of ADR they needed to do for the movie.

I think he acted fine in the role ... He was stiff, but it seemed to suit his character.

A personal favorite of mine. Perkin's character was perfect. A scientist devoid of real world wisdom. The movie is the classic haunted castle theme done anew. Although the science was way off. The subject of a Black hole could be an interesting plot point. The only flaw was at times it missed the Family audience and went to far into juvenile writing.

I believe that's every comic reading kid's dream, to be able to be the superhero from a comic book. Fun movie.


The Black hole has always been a favorite of mine as well. And I think you're partially right about the dubbed in dialog, most of the actors have that same quality to the delivery.
