yes it was in Sensurround after the show was canceled in April 1979 it was in selected theaters around August or September 1979 I made a huge profit for Universal Studios especially in Canada and Japan it beat out films like Grease and Jaws 2 in those markets

I was a fan of this show when I was young (even though I had to catch episodes on my aunt's TV as we didn't get ABC when it was on). I've watched it since when I can and most of the episodes hold up well. Sure, there are a few clunkers in there but also some gems.

I keep meaning to get the box set but never get around to it.

I saw it in a local theatre before the show debuted. Different ending than the pilot. A Cylon beheads Baltar and Baltar is bald.

I had the 3D Cylon Head set for a year or so, then sold it on eBay.. I enjoyed the extras, but was irked that the commentary for the pilot (Hatch, Benedict and Jefferson..) kept erroring out..?!? It was pretty funny, but always had a problem with the disk playing that episode for some reason.

I liked the second half of the series more (with Anne Lockhart..), when it started becoming 'more than the sum of it's parts', such as focusing on secondary characters, adding the 'blackshirt' security guards, less 'Star Wars' and more continuing stories, like 'Baltar's Escape', 'Experiment in Terra', etc..

It started finding it's 'legs' so to speak, and I really felt it was getting better and better.

The new series was apparently good, but it never held my attention.. The cast didn't have the same 'screen presence' that the original cast did.

I have the standard box set. I had bootlegs of 1980 for years but I need to upgrade that to the new official release

Loved the show! Even the spin-off (Galactica 1980?) with the flying motorcycles was cool in my book.
