Just got Back from seeing this and it was 2 and Half Hours of pure Sci-fi fun Though why it's in 3D I dont know there seemed to be no real benifit from it for me but well worth going to see
It's Quiet Tricky to Give a full Report with out giving away some of whats revealed in the Movie, But the CGI is incredible and the story takes you along really nicely and I have to say the creatures of Pandora are wery nasy beasts and there is also a good reason for why The Navi Avatars work and Why he ends up involved in the programme There and the last 30 mins or so is one huge battle
I just came back from the IMAX theater and I must say it's a great movie. Highly predictable storyline and exactly what you would expect. I had to ignore all the foreshadowing and focus on the world itself in order to really enjoy the experience.
I just love how they portrayed earthlings, corps and the military.
Definitely a bold statement to be made.
I recommend this movie.
dude it was soo cool... and I loved the 3-D effect. a few times I thought some of the stuff floating around on the screen was realling floating toward my face
Good movie but a bit long. I thought the world that was created was very inventive. Did it seem like it was the American Indians and The U.S. government?
According to web sites that track this sort of thing, since Tuesday it has already grossed $300.00 million worldwide. So for all those Cameron bashers it looks like he has done it once again.
My wife and I just saw the film and it is truly an amazing film and an experience on the big screen you should not miss.
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

Yeah...I don't get all this Cameron bashing...the guy is an innovative filmmaker...always braking new ground.
I think it's because of Titanic...he gets an unfair rap...the movie's story might be a bit sappy...but it's a technical marvel of a movie (see Darklord?)...
I like all his stuff...Aliens The Abyss, Terminator, etc...the guy has the Midas touch.
I have not seen Avatar yet...but will do sometime after this weekend.
I'm a movie Buff, and can easily say that this was "One of the best movies" i've ever seen in my life. Imax3D Gives this movie a look i've yet to see in any film to date. Truly, Truly, "Remarkable and extraordinary" film making by Mr.Cameron. From 1 to 5 stars,.....I'll give it a 6. Yes, an unprecedented rating; Due to the fact that i'm still at Awed by the good story and Phenominal visuals i've just experienced. The Bar has been risen again. Highly Recommended.

Kinda reminded me of Pochahantis with a military twist to it. In all.... a Great Movie Experience. J.Cameron has done it again.
"Everything old is new again!" Yes, I got the American Indian/ Military connection. I thought it was a really nice spin on an old classic theme. The effects were stunning! Did anyone recognize the "floating mountains"? There is definitely a huge Roger Dean influence in the movies design. From what I have read, he gets no credit at all. I am not the only one that sees the Dean influence, it's all over the internet, just do a search or two.
Great movie though!!
For the rules of the road have been lodged, it's peoples games you have to dodge- Bob Dylan
I saw it in England and thought it was fantastic. it didnt seem like true 3-d though. It had depth but nothing came out of the screen like most 3-d films do. I am by no means complaining. it was worth every penny!
Just saw this at the IMAX theatre last night. I've never seen a 3d movie without the annoying blue eye/ red eye lenses before so I can't compare to anything else, also never seen anything in IMAX before. . It pretty much blew my little mind from a visual perspective. stunning. Made me hold my breathe and grab my seat tight in places, also gave me vertigo.
As been mentioned the plot has been done before, and I didn't find the humans/army motivation for being so callous very believable.
still, worth seeing at least once, if not twice.
Really can't see anybody having anything negative to say about the visual experience of watching this unless they're just being pretentious idiots.
Ok, I was skeptical. I really didn't think I would like it based on previews and word of mouth. However, I have not been that riveted to a movie since Gladiator. It could have went on for 6 hours and I would have been fine. Felt that way about Gladiator as well.
