Star Trek: Starfleet Academy

I watched some Starfleet Academy and probably will return to it this week.

There should be some good moments in it and some fascinating things here and there.

We are just about finished watching ST Discovery and that really does prepare you for ST Academy. With the crossovers it's a must.

That being said we both enjoy just sitting back, unplugging from the world and enjoy Star Trek Universe.

it's a very different show for sure. there are a lot of things about it I do not like, but I overlook them to enjoy the things I do like about it

I watched the first one. It felt a bit like an 80s Trek spin-off movie. I've seen this story before, but I don't think I'm the intended audience. I liked some of it, but also found the casino look on the ship a bit distracting. It may not be the Star Trek for me, but that's ok, I don't even really like TNG, but I think it kept Star Trek alive.

it is the prime universe. follows all the original series and is a direct sequel to Discovery, so it is 900 years after TOS

I want to see the latest episode that honors Captain Sisko and DS9. So this is the TNG timeline? I guess I get confused if this is a rebooted universe or Kelvin universe or the original. :/

i've been watching it. it is a sequel of sorts to Discovery. some of the characters from Discovery are on it. As it the Doctor from Voyager, which is fun. they've changed the Klingon culture again, which is annoying. Show itself isn't bad if you ignore things like that

I’ll watch it eventually. After my dvds of Picard, Discovery and Strange New Worlds.lol. I want to see how they do the 32nd Century and what Enterprise is in that era lol.

I really don’t have high hopes for this, but I’m still going to check it out with a clear unbiased mind, I do know that Rod Roddenberry is the executive producer along with Alex Kurtzman.

This Star Trek universe is new to us so we thought why not watch the first 4 episodes. It's basically a teen High School/College show centered around Star Trek mythos. Sorta like Asian College shows: lots of teen drama and relationships.
