Today boyfriend & I went and watched Star Wars at the theater since it was the 25th anniversary. While waiting for the movie to start my boyfriend turned to me at said "I have seen this on your DVDs before but not at the theater, thanks for taking me". This left me puzzled, and then I remember how young his is and just how old this film is. This movie came out May 16, 1999 a year before he was born.
Thinking back, I remember going and watching the first trilogy at my local theater when they came out and sitting in front of the TV to watch Holiday Special and the two Ewoks movies and the cartoons (Droids & Ewoks). Now we have so many Star Wars projects coming onto streaming that you can get lost. At one point I even had the majority of the book or audio books of Star Wars. Looking back, I just never thought about just how much Star Wars was ingrained into my life till today.
So, sitting in the theater rewatching this movie was a blast and looking at my boyfriend expression during the film was even better. I know I was one of those people who talked bad about going to the theater in this day when more people have home theaters. I used to till my TV died. I still haven't replaced it, how could I since it was a 3D TV! I started to support the local theater and have enjoyed going back, but they also offer meals and deliver them to your seat, so that is a plus!
Forgot about the negative feedback that this movie had and enjoy it for what it was.
