I never see Shat doing Promise margarine commercials on youtube.

They were really big back in the 70's ... even big enough the old Belushi SNL Star Trek sketch ended with Belushi as Shatner saying "Promise"

Probably why he did the commercial...needed money for a new rug.

              Praise be Shatner!
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

We had Loblaw's in Buffalo when I was a kid. In fact there was one in the same plaza (opposite end) as a Woolworth's and my Grandma used to take me to both stores all the time. I believe all the Loblaw's turned into Bells markets at some point in the 70's.

Loblaws still exists in Canada - I never knew they had American stores.
