Ok, a Sarah Janes Adventures for the slightly older crowd.

I can't see it succeeding though,

I think the Sarah Jane Adventures kids will go straight to Doctor Who when they get old enough and bypass a "teen show"

BTW, making K-9 fly is a big mistake.
It gives him too much maneuverability aka POWER.
Seems like it would be really hard to write stories where he's actually threatened.

I can't see this show going past the first season -- if it even makes it a full season.

It is kinda weird, but I'm betting they did it to make shooting him easier. You can CGI flying things easier than things that have trouble rolling up stairs.

I think I saw this version of K9 maybe 10 years ago in an issue of Sci-Fi & Fantasy Modelling. This idea has probably been kicking around for some time but they couldn't get off the ground. If I can find the issue I'll do some scans. Maybe there's info on how this all started.

Is that John Leeson's voice-the real voice of K9 in the show? It sounds damn close. I dunno. I like the regular K9 design. If they had to modernize it why not scribe panel lines into it like R2-D2and have extra appendages pop out when needed? it does look too much like an iDog toy.

            Speaking of Sarah Janes Adventures.
Are they doing a second season of that?
            Haven't heard anything.

I thought it was already in production. Lethbridge Stuart is supposed to be on it.

It is such a waste them not having Lethbridge Stuart do a cameo in the new series.

While the man is still alive and well they should write him in a little part -- for him, and for us old fans.

Sometimes it really P'sses me off how the new series neglects the old characters -- unless they're Sarah Jane Smith

Even Peter Davison was only given a 5 minute nothing

I had thought Lethbridge Stuart WAS going to be in the new season of SJA? I have a coupel recent Doctor Who magazines interviewing him on that point.

I heard that too; and I want to see 'cos in the old show he should be retired about this time and a new Brigadier heads up UNIT. I'm curious 'cos there's a character who's been in the new show.... she's a Captain, and she reminds me of Lethbridge-Stuart's replacement.... so I'm wondering if it's the same character. (I can't remember what episode of the old show she was in.... and I'd hafta find it in all my tapes; but I want to see if they have the same name.)

                      It's not the same character.

You're thinking of the Brig lady from the McCoy story Battlefield, Brigadier Winifred Bambera

The new Captain from Turn Left and Planet of the Dead is Captain Magambo

Nick Courtney is still a wonderful actor but be ready when you see him the years haven't been kind. He is a much larger man than he was even in Battlefield. The new show has made passing references to him during the Sontaran Sky episode the unit leader mentioned Sir Alister is unreachable in the amazon. maybe he was visiting Jo Grant
