Did anybody catch this new show? I've never watched any of the SG shows before but my wife had it on last week and I have to admit I didn't hate the premise of people being trapped on an ancient ship.

However, I can't help but notice how much SGU feels a lot like BSG.

Using the same film style that BSG ripped off of firefly. Many people think this is a cutting edge style. I don't care for it.

As for SGU not bad we'll have to see what happens as they flesh out the story. Seems like not every one is so black and white, lots of shades of gray with flawed people. I think this will help the storys.

Has anyone noticed SG-1 spun off from original movie,
Make a cartoon,
Then they went to a Base somewhere far off,
Now they are lost in space.

yes they are ripping off Star Treks series in order.

Next gen
DS9
Voyager.

Next go back to before the fisrt movie and mess thinks up
and then make a movie that totally changes all it's previous history and they're caught up!!!!!!!

I watch very little of this.

there was a stargate caroon I missed that one...

Loved the film and was a big fan of the SG1 show for the first decade, when browder came on I was hopefull having been a farscape fan but as is so often the case it jumped when the lead left. Gave atlanis a shot the whole first season (basically since it was on after stargate I just stayed on the channel) but gave up on both, didn's see the new end of SG1 or the direct to dvd release

I have to say that that syle really annoys me in film and TV shows, why does everything have to resemble a reality TV show these Days

I'm a big fan of "star gate" ....SGU has potential....the second episode was better than the premier.....I don't like some of the characters,hopefully some of them will get weeded out .....Like that Richard Dean Anderson will be popping in here and there....the producers have to pull away from some of the BSG feel....I like the background music(it has the right feel)BUT they have to cut out the singing in the background,this "hip" BS doesn't work for sci-fi IMO
