Question for NON-USA Space 1999 fans

I have a question for non USA Space 1999 fans ......

Whenever I see an episode of Space 1999 I always associate it with the ITC Entertainment opening ... and closing (once the show is over)

    YouTube - ITC closing logo

Watching the DVD's really don't feel right or complete without it.
Of course you know it's not on the DVD's

My question, was this opening only on United States televised episodes of 1999 ?

You know what it's like I remember it here?
    I could be wrong though?

      Hmmmm....

Back when I was a kid they showed it here. I think the CBC always included it.

I maybe wrong but as far as i can remember the ITC logo came at the closing credits of the show and not like the one shown on US tv.

They just showed a montage of clips of what was coming up in that weeks episode.

        It's re-running over here on ITV4

I have the remastered R2 (UK) boxset and I believe they're at both the opening and closing on those episodes. I'll check tonight..

I just tried it and the UK set didn't have any ITC logo either front or back.. It perhaps just got cut off on the remastered Yr 1 eps.

I think ITC was bought out by Carlton ... Carton released the DVD's ...

I'm assuming Carlton hacked out all the ITC logos and intros

Agreed.. I'd direct you to the famous Catacomb site on-line. They've got the most comprehensive information on ALL things 1999.

Space: 1999 Catacombs- Guides, Scripts, Analysis

I've emailed/shared info with the host Martin Willey, who's also pretty knowledgeable about the international broadcasting of the show, plus you can sift through pics of vintage promos, pages of broadcasting schedules, ITC, etc..

If you don't see it at the site, just email 'em.
