    Outland

I've just read that Hollywood bosses are planning to re-make the classic Connery film " Outland ".

Why can't they just come up with new ideas instead of rehashing perfectly good films?

I saw that when it was new in the theaters. I seem to recall it wasn't too bad but I haven't seen it since.

Yup, a re-make...of a re-make. I'm quite happy with the Connery one...I don't need to see another version.

I seen Outland one time back in the 80's when I first got HBO.

I don't remember much about it other than I liked it, but wouldn't care to see it again.

I would rather they remake ZARDOZ... with Sean Connery again.

this is exactly why I prefer foreign or art films....at least for the most part, you get some original ideas filmed instead of egos thinking their "vision" is an "original" take on any given film. Don't get me wrong, i still enjoy the "blockbuster" films that HAVE to be viewed in the theater (Star Wars, Star Trek, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Aliens, etc.) but for the most part Hollywood sucks. How many movies do we need about 50's and 60's TV shows...i.e. The Beverly Hillbillies...LOL!

But on the other hand...there are tons of horrible foreign and art flicks as well...we remember the good ones...but oh boy...they do make some bad stuff too.

Sometimes. Sometimes it's a case of someone else's rut being new to you....

But it's still nice to see something not like everything ELSE you see.

                          >they do make some bad stuff too.

Sometimes the BAD stuff is more fun than the good stuff though.

I plan on remaking Star Wars as a foreign art film.
                            Greedo: "Going somewhere, Solo?"
Solo: "Well, do you mean physically moving from point A to B, or do you mean, in an existential way, transcending from one state of mind to another, gaining spiritual strength as one follows a path to enlightenment?"
                            Greedo: "Huh?"
Solo: "Boring conversation anyway!" (blasts a hole in Greedo's chest)
                            .
                            .
                            .
