The whole picture has a 60s vibe.

I'm actually surprised that the Doctor isn't dressed like an EMO kid goth, pleasantly surprised...

          Eeww..

          Just eeww..

The devolution of the doc continues ... (and the "youthen-ing" of the fan base) continues..

          Can you say "pandering" ??

          I knew you could ...

After the JNT years as long as I don't see question marks on any of his clothes, that's a big huge plus right there

As far as the 50's geek look ... It's interesting and it's never been done to date in a DW suit.

I'm not happy about the actor himself (I still thinks he's too young and weird looking) ... But I am liking everything about that picture so far.

              Hmmmm....

I think my friend Rob sums it up best:

              >After expecting Doctor Twlight, it looks like we're getting Doctor Bill Nye! Suits me fine. I didn't want a brooding gothy doctor.

              Don C.

He could have been dressed in a black t-shirt with a question mark made out of skulls, jawa pants, and puffy marshmallow tennis shoes.
                That would have been lovely.

Perhaps it was the Doctors time spent as the 800 year old Yoda Doctor from series 3 that made this regeneration want to feel a little younger. I like the look and am excited to see a new interpretation of the character. As with any regen, the actor has some big shoes to fill. (several pairs really)

They've given him a look which is very remeniscent of Patrick Troughtons costume. I'm really loving it and very excited for this next series.

It also looks like a certain Song is making an appearance too judging by pics I saw today.

You DO know that they are bringing back the tradition of overlaying the actor's face over the opening credits/theme, right?

I've heard that they will be doing that and going back to a similar sounding theme from the old days. The composer is supposed to be different for the upcoming series too.

As good as it sounds; I'll believe it when I see it though. There is also a rumour that Matt Smiths Doctor is in fact a younger 1st Doctor and the series will be reset. Again, very interesting but I doubt it is true.

The BBC website is offcially calling Smith the 11th Doctor, so I don't believe the Hartnell rumors at all.

I just think Moffet (like all other DW producers) is trying to differentiate his Doctor
                        from previous versions .....

Adapting some 60's forumla's might be his way of breaking away from the JNT/RTD versions.

Interesting... maybe a mining ship from the future will blow up Gallifrey this time .. oops, wrong alternate timeline!

I am worried about this Doctor (and still am quite cautious) but I like the look of these pictures. The overlay of the face on the opening credits gets to my geeky, nostalgic heart.
