Saw it yesterday was an ok film not as good as the first 3 IMO kind of had the same vibe as the order of the pheonix to me in the sense that not a lot happens for the most part and it seems another bridge movie to the deathly hallows movies and the two key events could have been done in theother one as is seemed to me that untill the end the idenity of the half blood prince was brushed over no one really seemed to spend a lot of time looking for how he was. I have to say though this was the first one that I sat there through( and I have seen them all on the big screen) and thought to myself this could have ended 20 mins ago having said that though visually it was very stunning and I must admit I'm not a big harry potter fan
Caught the 12:05am show with my daughter and some friends. I liked it. It's getting darker which I also liked. I think knowing the outcome takes a lot away from it. Nobody knew how it was going to finish until the final book was released so from that movie on you have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen. I think it would have been totally different case if these movies had not been books and nobody knew what was going to happen before hand.
I have to wait for the weekend when a friend of ours can go, we've seen them all together, she's a huge fan, dresses up and everything. My wife and I are more casual fans, I really enjoy the movie series though and look forward to each new installment.
The first review from here in the UK papers is that the film looks fantastic but is only average for content. Far too much which is explained in the book is not explained in the film leaving you sitting there thinking why did they do that.
Watched the film last weekend and the friend I was with kept complaining it should have been called Horny Potter and the Half Dead Flick or Harry Potter and the Raging Hormones. I find that quite funny but I know it'll surely irritate Harry Potter fans. I thought it was okay but definitely not the best. I thought it would have been great if Richard Harris was Dumbledore. The death scene would have been much more powerful. IMHO
