Originally Christopher Eccleston was involved but I don't think it was this version, either way, I'm curious if not cautious.

      Hmmmm....

They already did one. It was called "Nowhere Man" and it blew. (So.... the evil conspiracy controlls everything BUT the photomats....?)

THIS one hurts, 'cos the prisioner is one of my faves and it's an amazingly adroit allegory for my own life. ("You are number 8407.") It's also something that I don't think ANYBODY can do right these days. It'll end up being a more science-fictional X-Files. (And I thought the X-Files blew too.) With a car chase.

I remember back in the early 00's McGoohan himself was humming and hawing about doing a sequel. THAT I'd go for, since the show was pretty much his baby. But anyone else? It'll end up being standard "tv by committe" and any originality'll be sucked out. (WHY does he have a grenade in his mouth?)

So on the tv front it looks like the only shows I like that haven't been monkeyed with (yet) are UruseiYatsura and Max Headroom. I wouldn't mind the remakes if they weren't just generic shows with the name slapped on. (Bubblegum Crisis 2040 was actually a lot better than the original, you could see them develop the points they wanted to in the original but couldn't 'cos of time. Too bad more shows don't do that.)

I'm open-minded about the re-makes. I love this show and if they do it right, great. If not it will simply disappear without a trace like all the other bad re-makes. Right now the guys who re-made Kolchak are sitting in a dank barroom thinking about how to get home without any money.

Wait, the guys who re-made the Bionic Woman are going to lend them cab fare, but now they're broke too. It's all very sad, really.

They'll still go ahead with it. if they're willing to mess with this i'm sure they have been threatened with they're lives before this. probably since they were kids.

I've never seen the supposed Prisoner "Prequel" series, Danger Man. I noticed it at the library the other day, is it worth checking out?

                            Hmmmm....

Danger Man/Secret Agent is a neat show. McGoohan did it 'cos he didn't like James Bond and wanted to present a more cerebreal alternative. I haven't seen too many of them, but the ones I did see were good.

How does it compare to something like Sandbaggers? I would imagine Danger Man is more action oriented, but I love the constant tug-of-war diplomacy and subterfuge in Sandbaggers.
