DW : Terror of the Autons - talk

Just watched Doctor Who's Terror of the Autons again last night.
I have to say, this is probably my fav classic Doctor Who story of all time.
It's got just about everything you could ask for in a Doctor Who story ....

    1. A great Doctor (Jon Pertwee)
    2. The PREMIER of The Master
    3. The premier of Jo Grant
    4. Great story
    5. CREEPY special effects
    6. Plenty of outside location shooting
    7. U.N.I.T.
    8. a Time Lord in a Pertwee story

My one wish is someday soon it will be released remastered on official DVD.
The version I have is the restored VHS version which is really washed out.

What do you think of Terror of the Autons ?

Could not agree more a great story my favorite part is the choking phone cord. the doll is really creepy

i agree the recolored VHS looks like ted turner did it but that was the best technology they had then (same is true with DAEMONS) both of which I want to see on dvd.

The autons were a great baddie. loved thier return in the relauch ROSE story too

"Terror of the Autons" is my favorite Pertwee story. I always liked the creepy doll and the killer plastic chair. The debut of Roger Delgado as The Master is a
highlight. Delgado is still the definitive Master. He obviously enjoys being evil.

when interviewed Pertwee said Roger was the kindest sweetest man he ever met and he was skiddish -- but his consumate skill as an actor Allowed him to play the villian very well

I meant The Master enjoyed being evil. I've also read about Roger Delgado being the complete opposite of The Master.

During location filming for "The Daemons" local kids actually cheered when they saw Delgado in character.

Roger Delgado as The Master is a prime example of what
good bad guy acting is all about.

              Hmmmm....

Doctor Who goodness at it's goodnessest. It's got some really silly ideas that are handled deadly seriously, and makes for a surreal tv watching experience.
