Now that Universal is bringing the original series back as a feature film, I think the Ron Moore gang are feeling like they might get left in the lurch a bit...Might be why they seem to be trying to cover their series from every angle possible. So they dont get sandbagged when the movie comes out? (I hear the next tv series will be from the point of view of Baltars goldfish lucky.)
It is kind of funny to see all the new BG crowd screaming that the original shouldnt be revived....Funny, and ironic, considering the arguments were going the other way for so long.
so whats going with Glen Larsons theatrical release of the continuation of the original have not heard anything in months maybe Universal killed the project?.and as for this will not watch like the rest of Ron Moores garbage!

Its in pre-production right now. The sucess of the new Trek movie pretty much clinched this as a "go".In Currently, they are writing the script and doing concept artwork. Sadly, Richard Hatch pretty much confirmed (as far as he knows anyway) that this will be a "Star Trek" style re-boot...not a continuation with the surviving cast.
Personally I was hoping to see how our ragtag fleet is doing thirty years later. We've already got one reboot that is quite popular...not sure if we need another?
I liked the Pegasus movie, but not sure we really need to rehash things from the Cylon side. It really almost makes it sound like a "clips" episode, with new material bridging it, so I really hope it's not a way of recycling to create a low-budget movie for a quick cash grab.
Still have Caprica waiting in my "to watch" cue.
I'll give old-school BSG a shot. After sitting through a Cylon Civil War involving people sitting around talking on sets of black backgrounds while the camera cross dissolves over and over again, it would be interesting to see how Galactica can be reinterpreted with an actual budget that could bring the visuals to life in full kick-splode computery ADD action.
I want Shia Lebouf (sp?) to stay far far away from the Galactica movie.
I thought the miniseries was proof that the Series should be 30 seconds long because since the Cylons knew where the humans were and they should have jumped in and decimated them in the first scene.
But some of the stuff they did was cool. But it was sort of Hollywoody in that they did stuff like make Starbuck a girl just to "mix it up" or some nonesense.
But really, it should have been one scene long. And I didn't like the ending really. I didn't watch hardly any of the season where the Humans were on the planet for a year or whatever. I quit. But I came back to see how it was going to end and they dragged that out and it didn't pay out.
I liked the ending as a separate idea but not as the conclusion to that series. I was too confused some of the time I guess.
If they are bringing back a Retro Galactica they better have the original cast in there somehow. If they are going to reboot it again, without Hatch that is wrong. It would never have been rebooted once if not for him. And to pretty much freeze him out (OK they threw him a small bone) twice, is not right.
I liked Galactica originally but this may be too much. If they abandon the original cast/series again I might watch the Pilot for curiosity but good grief.
I think they could have done much, much better with the Trek reboot too. That plot nags me but I haven't gone over it to see why. Like I enjoyed First Contact but that did not hold up under scrutiny at all.
And Shatner killing Kirk got what he deserved when he couldn't be worked into the reboot.

they had announced this miniseries a while back. before the series even finished it's final episodes. Some of the series regulars will be in it. It should be cool and tie up some of the loose ends
Huge fan of the original BSG. Still haven't seen an episode of the new one and don't care if I ever do. Same reason I haven't seen either Transformer film. Optimus Prime needs to be a cartoon, and Starbuck needs to be a card playing, cigar smoking, skirt chaser.

If you haven't seen transformers (1) you are shorting yourself especially since Peter cullen is still the voice of optimus prime. I gave the new BSG a fair shake (the whole 1st season) hoping I would see what so many others did in it, I didn't but I gave it a fair shake before I said I hate it. Eventually I'll rent this new star trek and give it a try too
