yes another piece of crap and train wreck like everyone said the new Star trek and Transformers 2 was gonna be..... by the way how much money have those films made? That's what I thought, just give it a chance, it might surprise you

Yes while it would've been cool to have seen the outfits more like the originals, it also would'nt have been to realistic. What they where now has the look of a modern top secret special forces type of thing. I think it fits in well with the time

Has there been a any footage of The disgraceful looking Cobra Commander yet ? I am looking forward to the film, but I am still very unhappy with Cobra Commanders look. I hoping that's a pre look , and he has other looks in the film, or is setup for something more traditional if there is another film.

the critics who blasted TF2 were all to old to get the film anyway how can a 50+ person see a movie with giant robots pummelling each other as good if they didn't know the characters to begin with.

Star trek's big detractors were show purists who were mad at the reboot (same complaints happened with the BSG launch)

Highlight to see but warning it's a spoiler.

Unfortunately it is the final look, the character of "The Doctor" is an early look for CC. That character looks like a Mortal Combat reject.

            Yeah, those exo-suits are realistic.

That's what bugs me. If they took the more fantastical elements of GI Joe out and made them a more realistic anti-terrorist group, I could swallow it better. But to take out the individual outfits, constantly-masked Destro, crome-domed Cobra Commander, and then add in new, even wilder stuff like the exo-suits, and tupperware-head Commander, it just seems like they didn't REALLY want to make a GI Joe movie, just use the name.

I'll take the kid to see it, but I'm not sure I'll like it.

              >by the way how much money have those films made?

Well.... I don't think that's a real good indicator of quality. How much money has crack cocaine made? Doesn't mean it's good for you....

              >Yes while it would've been cool to have seen the outfits more like the originals, it also would'nt have been to realistic.

That's a minor thing for me; the stuff that bothers me is that I've seen every shot in the trailer before.... slow motion bullet pan, obligatory car flipping past the characters.... THAT'S what bothers me!

              >it just seems like they didn't REALLY want to make a GI Joe movie, just use the name.

Tying into my previous comment; yeah, that's how it works. It's the generic film with "GI Joe" slapped on it.

              >how can a 50+ person see a movie with giant robots pummelling each other as good if they didn't know the characters to begin with

Hmmmm.... I think this sort of reply comes close to minimalizing the detractors. It's always possible that someone GENUINELY doesn't like something, not 'cos it steps on a preconception or 'cos it's aimed for a different age group. There's been a lot of remakes that I didn't like not because they're remakes but because they just weren't that good in and of themselves.... or contained elements in and of themselves that don't appeal to me. (Such as the new BSG's use of modern "I'M ANGRY!!!!" characterization. That stuff bugs me no matter what show it's in.)

I have no clue about GI Joe and have never seen any of the cartoons, but I want to see the film. Probably just as well, since I won't expect much and being clueless, I won't be very disappointed.
