    Thanks good buddy!

I am still SERIOUSLY trying to get my friend in South America to next build me a correctly-scaled Jabba The Hutt Sailbarge. He built one for a client years ago that ended up just about as long as the Sandcrawler I own (about 5 feet 6 inches).

I'd have thought everyone here would have seen photos of my silly Sandrawler by now. I posted them some time ago in this thread along with photos of my STAR WARS collection room.

But here it is again for any that missed it:

In the CENTER of my Collection room I have a six-foot long banquet table set up with my custom-built correctly-scaled JAWA SANDCRAWLER parked on top.

This custom JAWA SANDCRAWLER is 2-1/2 Feet tall. 5 Feet 2 inches long. It features a Full Control Room Cabin, Front Ramp Loading Bay, Side Compartment Droid Storage, and Working lights.

NOTE: It's a darn good thing I only needed to have ONE of these built since only ONE appears in Ep IV !

NOTE: Just to be clear- I wish I could take credit for the construction of this HUGE beast, but I CANNOT.

I commissioned the construction of this Sandcrawler two years ago from a very talented model builder in South America.

I knew Hasbro would never make one even close to scale so I took matters into my own hands... so to speak.

This crawler is made out of hardboard, and scribed styrene plastic. The removable panels are held in place with magnet fasteners. The interior lighting works with battery power (calculator batteries), and the surface detailing consists of model kit parts and ordinary household items (pencil sharpeners, pudding cups, cassette player mechanisms, ordinary hardware supplies... you name it.

I have purchased 4 Remote Controlled large-scale military tanks to convert this Sandcrawler into an RC model. I am going to transfer the working rolling treads and drive mechanism of the RC tanks to the Sandcrawler.

Currently, this Sandcrawler weighs approximately 30 lbs. It will likely become a bit heavier with the RC conversion.

It's very hit or miss these days in my opinion. I only buy it these days if I'm looking for mag to read and have exhausted the usual ones.

I think you may be remembering Star Wars Galaxy Magazine by Topps, that later was re imaged as Star Wars Galaxy Collector, I believe the format was even changed somewhat, size and quality of the paper. Took me a while to recall this.

The first run of this, Star Wars Galaxy Magazine was a pretty nice mag, I think I still have a few around, but I sold off all my Insiders.
