Intentionally campy, but it works, like the earliest episodes of TV's Batman (which had a lot of the same creators as FG). My son has watched this several times, a few without me even!

I can honestly say with pride ... I was one of the few people who watched Flash Gordon new in the theatre (at age 15) and got the joke and totally enjoyed the movie -- long before it became a "cult classic"

I still remember my local pizza place having the Flash Gordon single in their juke box

I still love this film,First time I saw it I was like 6 in 1986...I thought it was great and wanted the action figures,I ended up getting the Defenders of the Earth who were out around that time

Another campy, guilty pleasure was Doc Savage - Man of Bronze with Ron Ely (the TV tarzan) in the title role. Haven't seen it in many years but recall it was lots of fun. Wish they made more movies based on the old pulps. That stuff is entertaining!

I loved the Flash Gordon movie. I was ten when that came out.
I also played my copy of the Queen soundtrack that the grooves wore out and the record would just slide over parts.
I need to get that on CD, is it still out there?

I don't have many records left --- and as a matter of fact, I don't even own a record player anymore --- but I still have my Flash Gordon soundtrack album

I loved this cheese fest.Flash was the reason I played high school football...

I'm sure I still have all the episodes of the highwayman on vhs somewhere around here. They have probably deteriorated badly by now I'm sure.Probably just a fuzzy green and red mess...

Isn't Von Sydow great, as well as Klytus?
