I dont watch the show very often, hows it making out these days? I heard Sc-Fi (or whatever) was dropping it, making me think it may be sliding?
I liked Billy Piper for the companion. Now that her "nudie" show is over (at least I think it is?) maybe she would come back? Then get a Doctor who will hang around for more than a season (somebody mentioned Timothy Dalton a while back...I like that idea!)"Crayons taste like purple!"Comment

If they keep getting younger, The Master will be played by a ten year old with a fake beard.
I'm sure she'll kiss the Doctor within two episodes.
Then start texting to her girlfriends: "He's sooooooo cute!!!!"

Episode 1 with the new Doctor and his teenage companion:
The Doc moves back in with his parents.
Doc: "Ma, my Tardis is broken. Can I have a new one?"
Time Mom:"Can't your Dad just fix the one you have?"
Doc: "Oh, Ma, the chameleon circuit is broken. It's a blue box!"
Time Mom: "What's wrong with that?"
Doc:"All the other Time Lords have a Tardis in the shape of a red Ferrari!"
Time Mom:"We don't have the money, son."
Doc: "Aw, come on, Ma. Please? Please?!"
Time Mom: "Alright then......"
Companion: "OMG! My nail broke! Save me, Doctor!"
(with thanks to Roger for the inspiration).

Matt Smith apparently signed a 3 year deal. Its always the same, we're a bit disappointed with the new guy when we first see his press pics and then it takes a season to get used to him. By the 2nd year we like the 'new guy' and by the time hes announced he's leaving we don't want him to go.....Comment

I remember posting a pic of Tennant when it first showed and was greeted with comments like "he looks femmy" and the internet equivilent of "booooooo!"
Give the new guy a chance.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I give him three episodes.
After that, I'm getting a gun....
I'll regenerate his butt so fast and hard, his ancestors will feel it.....

We (the older fans) are no longer relevant in regards to the audience demographic which is generally considered important these days.
18-36 year olds are the ones buying boatloads of sneakers, ounces of hair product, pounding back energy drinks, a new cel phone every six months, and going to see Friday the 13th remakes while we are home in bed at a decent hour (perhaps watching Jay Leno).
If we are hooked along with them (ala the new Star Trek) great, if not there are movies with an increasingly craggy Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman or Harrison Ford for those of us that are beginning to wear our pants up around the armpits.
You know what I'm talking about. Movies like Space Cowboys and The Bucket List that show young punk wippersnappers that all it takes is good ol' fashion GUMPTION to pilot a spacecraft or jump out of an airplane. None of their fancypants "computers" or Mountain Dew or so called Rap "Music".
That Zhia LaEfron brat can just kiss our grits with his Jr School Musicals and Transfounding Robuts.
Here is the other sad truth... It's not that the companions are getting younger. Many of them have been quite young throughout the decades the show has been on the air.Last edited by samurainoir; May 30, '09, 4:01 PM.Comment
