Glued to the tube for a good part of tommorow I'm sure alot of people will be.
No doubt! I just made room on the DVR, too. I figured it would be something for my eight-year-old niece to watch this summer after I drop them on DVD for her.
I read this, and turned it over to Sci Fi to see if my 7 year old might be interested. We've seen the Will Farrel trailer, and I told him it was based on an old TV show. After watching the opening credtis, he was ready for me to turn it back to The Spectacular Spider-Man marathon on Disney XD.
I can't really blame him. No offense to those who grew up with it, but it was slightly before my time, so I have no nostalgia for it. It does seem supremely cheesy, even by 70s TV standards. Shazam! looks like a major motion picture by comparison.
But my son will sit through those horrid, HORRID 40s Batman serials, and even I can't do that!
After watching it for a spell, it truly reads like a 70's style soap opera with dinos. It doesn't help the older boy looks like a member of the Brady Bunch. Ah, it's good clean fun. Hard to find on television these days.
Something else just occurred to me...which is painful. Do you realize the dad is wearing the same outfit Steve Austin usually wore in the Six Million Dollar Man?! Egads!
I'm loving it, except for the endless commercial breaks.
I think it's held up rather well. Way better than I expected for not having seen it since it was new.
Yeah a little cheesy with the SFX and kid-oriented but pretty good still!

interesting to see the high concept stuff like paradoxs, inter dimentional travel and such mixed in with the really dumbed down, 70s kids fluff.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

Yeah, that one episode had me scratching my head at the end. They were in the cave with the Sleestak Enoch and watching themselves going over the waterfall in the raft on an endless loop (through the dimensional doorway).
So they leap through and then it basically starts over at the beginning with them arriving in the Land of the Lost. Or was that them??? Will they be caught in an endless time loop and keep leaping through the portal only to start their journey over again??? Or were these different dimensions (earth-1, earth-2, etc) and the original cast DID get home but stranded their counterparts in TLOTL?
Well the next episode went on like nothing happened. They talked about Dopey and Chaka and all that so....<scratching head>
Probably expecting too much out of it. LOL

the time loop was fixed once the original family left. When the next version of them came through this loop no longer existed because it fixed the hole. Essentially it had to loop once in order to create a fix
