Escape from New York -Special Edition

just watched this last night one of the greatest films ever love the deleted footage on the 2nd disc of the Bank Robbery Kurt Russell and John Carpenter did something amazing in 1980 for 5 million bucks ,and James Cameron worked on the picture as a matte paint artist cant beat that!

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I can't even count how many times I have watched it.

Love this movie !!!!! Ive got this edition also. Definatly one of the best of the 80s. I ordered this film about five years ago from Suncoast Video, picked it up 29 bucks for the special edition. Not 2 weeks later I was in Wal-mart and saw it (the special edition 2 disc set) in the five dollar bin. What a bummer.

When I saw Kurt Russel transformed from the Disney posterchild of the 70's into one the coolest tough guys of the 80's as Snake Pliskan, I knew we had a guaranteed classic. Great, great movie. It took a while for it to grow on people, but I am so glad it has reached the levels of popularity I had hoped it could have done when it first came out. Awesome film.

yeah its amazing the following it has gotten since its initial release.John Carpenter is one of my favorite directors especially his first five indie films and Kurt Russell was really brilliant as snake all that training he got at Disney as a child actor he knows how to hit those marks

That's one movie I still haven't seemed to pick up. Man, I'd definitely snag it for $5 if I saw it. A true classic.

Snake Plissken was my hero as a kid, when the kids on the school yard pretended to be Magnum PI, or some TV personality, I would always whip out my eyepatch, and a bandanna tie the bandanna on my leg and start limping with eyepatch on telling my schoolmates to "Call me Snake!" ha ha ha, he is BY FAR the greatest movie character EVER, well, he's my favorite at least.
