Star Trek:TOS on BluRay & the New CGI

I was getting ready to write my review on ST:TOS on BluRay, and how I thought the new CGI FX looked so much better on BluRay with the proper HD TV...than when I first watched them on regular TV.
Then I read Harry Knowles review at "Ain't It Cool News"...and old Harry hit the Nail right on the Head!

"If you caught the "Remastered" episodes as they were broadcast, you may've sometimes felt the new/enhanced effects didn't blend with the universe around them as smoothly as they should have. They often appeared overamped, or "too CGI".

This phenomenon is diminished considerably when remastered episodes are viewed in 1080p. The textural differences between the new effects and the footage surrounding them is far less dramatic. I don't pretend to understand the ins and outs of such technical matters, but, if I had to guess, I'd assume this is attributable to the fact that the new effects are now being seen in their native resolution, and we're seeing the episode wrapped around them ratcheted up to 1080p as well...creating a smoother marriage?
I could be totally full of **** with my guess work here...so don't take my explanation to the bank. Just know that, without a doubt, the new effects look much more organic on these Blu-Ray than they did when the show was broadcast. "

is there a way to watch them as they were originally made like BBC uses for Doctor who? Or is it this is the only way we show it now (ie star wars Special ed)

You know I bought Season 1 remastered the other day (just the DVD, I'm not into blue ray) and I kind of felt that way about the effects, they didn't seem to sync.

I know what you mean Brian...but Blu-Ray is a completely different Animal! The FX look so right to me now...not the least bit out of place. Seeing is believing...and I'm now convinced!

I have the blu rays and was surprised to notice (after all these years) the eye holes on the Gorn Mask at either side of the bridge of the nose.

Well, I love it anyway. There is only a couple times when the eyeholes on the mask show well (most of the time they are cloaked in shadow, as they were designed to).

Another big better clarity revelation oln Trek for me (this is on DVD and not on high def) if the fact that they used a fine mesh for the faceplates in the environmental suits on The Tholian Web.

Perfect solution for TV, it didn't give off reflection, it didn't interfere with dialog recording but the diffusion made it look like it was a clear covering on TV.

On DVD, it looks like mesh.
