    Time Tunnel 2002 Pilot

I saw the Time Tunnel sets going for $7 at besybuy yesterday and that motivated me to pick one up. The second set includes the ill fated 2002 pilot for a Time Tunnel relaunch, so i popped it in and to my surprise, it was pretty good!

It's obvious the producers were trying to get the next Stargate SGI out of this but it gave the characters more motivation than the original series.

It also pulls a Starbuck and makes Tony into a Toni, which didn't bother me. I found the original guys didn't have a lot of personality to begin with.

    Anybody else watch this yet?

Yea, I seen it when I got the classic DVD set a few years ago.

I didn't mind it --- and that's saying a lot coming from me

Yes, I thought it was pretty good too! I didn't expect much and I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the original show but it did gradually descend in quality like Irwin Allen's other projects did as the premise wore out. It was also very much 'of it's time', which isn't meant to be a criticism. It really has a Classic Star Trek vibe.
The new one made some great choices. It would've been interesting if they'd followed up on it, but I don't mind it as a standalone. In a year or two, we'd all be wishing it was off the air. There's nothing sadder than a show that crawls along in spite of the fact it has run out of steam.

Never seen the show...ever. Not one of the shows that was ever in syndication anywhere I lived (or at least not on at a time/day I was able to watch it).
I've always wanted to see it. I was aware of the show. Didn't know about the remake either.

              Check Best Buy $7.99 each.

I first caught Time Tunnel in those syndicated movies when I was 14, it was schlocky looking to me but I think that's why I liked it. Kind of the same way I enjoy the old Batman show.

Thanks Palitoy...I'll spin by Best Buy tomorrow.

I first saw the series when a local channel ran the reruns late on Saturday nights....it was on right before the old CBC series :Worlds Worst Film Festival (but on a different channel). Liked it instantly. Reminded me of Voyagers, which was on in first run prime time in those days.

American Life shows Time Tunnel every Thursday as part of it's sci-fi all Irwin Allen night, along with Lost In Space & Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. I thought it was such a great series when I was a kid...now, not so much. The time stops were pretty standard, Rome, Titanic, Lincoln, Custer. I always thought it was creepy that the science team was watching the time travellers all the time, yet Doug & Tony never seemed to think about that.
And remember when computers would take up a whole room?

Can't complain about Lee Meriweather- meow!

Anybody ever see the '70s Time Travellers tv-movie that Allen created with Rod Serling. It never went anywhere...involves a doctor & an agent returning to the scene of the Chicago Fire to retrieve information on a cure for a forgotten plague that is ravaging the present. Fox Movie Channel occasionally runs the film in it's lineup, usually in the middle of the night, worth setting your DVR for it.

                  Here's the opening:

I bought the Time Tunnel DVD sets a couple of years back when they were $20. I like Irwin Allen's stuff. TV from that era can be so bad it's good!

I really liked the premise of the 2002 Time Tunnel -- more like the novel than the original series was. I especially liked the part when Toni makes the comment about checking out her butt. Nice one! Andrea's, I mean...

They shelved it when the producers chose to go with Firefly instead.
