I may be opening myself up for trouble here, but I think this guy would have made a better James T. Kirk than Chris Pine. Nothing against Pine, but this guy just looks more like Shatner, and came across as a little more surefooted commander in the opening scene.....of course he was a vet and not a cadet.

I know what you mean...and can almost agree with you. In his all too short sceen...he totally blew me away. And I thought the same thing...he'd make a good Jim Kirk. But Pine won Me over, and he's Jim now.

Actually I think the leader of the vikings in the 13th Warrior would be a better thor depending how he looks now. Its been a few years since.

I was thinking the same thing...especially after seeing him in the opening sequence...he had a more Shatner-feel to him...but like you said...Pine won me over later.

I like his look but since I have not seen the new Trek cant vouch for his acting chops but if Kenneth Brannagh is still directing he's going to have bring his A game to the set everyday

I liked him as Kirks father...I liked Pine as a young Kirk....and I'm sure Shatner will be giving Pine some pointers
