    Timothy Dalton in Doctor Who?

I saw this today on my home page news section

Doctor Who role for Timothy Dalton
Fri May 15 12:03PM by TV Editor

Former James Bond star Timothy Dalton is to appear in Doctor Who.

The actor, who played James Bond in The Living Daylights and Licence To Kill, will appear as a baddie in one of David Tennant's final episodes.

A Doctor Who insider told The Sun: "Timothy Dalton is a big coup for Doctor Who because he's pretty iconic. He's in the UK right now and is shooting scenes over the next few weeks.

"It's a good gig for him as it will be one of the most memorable episodes yet."

David Tennant is set to play the Time Lord in just three more special episodes before handing over his sonic screwdriver to new Doctor Matt Smith.

Former assistants Billie Piper, Freeman Agyeman and Catherine Tate are all expected to appear and John Simm will also be reprising his role as The Master.

The specials are expected to be screened on BBC1 over Christmas and New Year.

I thought that the official BBC line was Rose Tyler ( along with Sarah Jane and Martha ) wouldn't be appearing in any more Doctor Who stories. Rose was sealed for good in the alternate universe, Sarah Jane has her own series and Freema p'd off the BBC over an ITV series she did.

I'd rather see Dalton cast as the 11th Doctor

This has been done to death.
I can't wait until RTD gets out.

RTD did a great job, but he doesn't know when to quit.
I've really grown tired of his style ("doesn't matter if the story makes sense, as long as the music is loud and the scenes fast").
The two last stories were crap. Cybermen are my favourites, but furry Cybermen?

And first you get the whole drama of companions that "can never return", and then they do nothing else but return, and return....

Can he please let me enjoy the last moments of Tennant without irritating the hell out of me?

Looking forward to the return of Simm as the Master. He was suitably gonzo.

Catherine Tate has been my favourite companion of the Tennant years.

Could Dalton be a new incarnation of the Master?

I prefered a Master that was a little less OTT...

I like Simm, but I don't care for him as the Master.

It's not Simm's fault ... he's just acting the way RTD wants him too.

For me, the entire RTD run as producer was a rollercoaster of great and crap.

It seems lately RTD is almost turning into JNT --- meaning he's running the series into the ground and it gets worse and worse with every new episode.

One thing, I don't have a lot of hope for the new upcoming producer ...

I'm guessing it was HIM who cast the new Doctor -- who don't look promising whatsoever.

There's really nothing i'm looking forward to in the series as of now.

The ape guys? I thought that was weird, but neat. Kinda like they didn't have the tech to make Cybermats, so they improvised with the materials they had.

I like weird. I also liked "Robot Monster."

                    >I like Simm, but I don't care for him as the Master.

Oh man, I LOVED the last appearance of the Master. The gonzoness, along with his speeches, made me think he'd finally snapped after being thwarted by the Doctor so many times. It reminded me of "The Human Dalek," where the one Dalek leader wanted to absorb the etherial SOMETHING that lets humans always win. No wonder we're always being invaded; we're the Homer Simpson to the Ed Grimes of the universe.

Honestly, I kind of feel the same way. About RTD (yes indeed, JNT all over), and the future Doc.
I hope Tennant doesn't end on a sour note....

I just thought Simm's Master was gonzo cause he had won, he never wins.

Timothy Dalton on Doctor Who is good news. I agree it's too bad that he isn't
the new Doctor. He'd be very interesting in the part.

I am totally feed up with Rose and Martha. I didn't care for either character and I'd be happy not to see them again. Bringing back Donna is also a mistake
                          and I like that character.

The show needs to look forward more than it looks back.

What's wrong with a male companion, that, for once, does NOT want to kiss the Doctor?

I kind of miss the days of the "non-sexual" Doctor....

I hoped that the new Doctor would be older to help get rid of the crap of female companions falling in love with him.
