Star Trek SPOILERS thread!!! BEST Star Trek film EVER!!!

    WOW!!!

    I AGREE with Darklord...

THIS IS THE BEST TREK FLICK EVER...AND I DO MEAN EVER!!!

Yes...it's even better than The Wrath of Khan (and I LOVE that flick).

This baby makes the other Trek flicks look like B television movies of the week, lol.

The actors, starting with Chris Pine...acts CIRCLES around William Shatner...I DO MEAN CIRCLES!!!

    Sorry Shatner fans.

Old Star Trek was great...but this remake shows how really outdated Star Trek was...but now it has brought the franchise back from the brink of extinction...in spades.

The new look explains EVERYDAY different in this movie...so don't get all bent outta shape, old school Trekkies, lol.

WOW...the planet Vulcan is DESTROYED...six billion Vulcans gone!!!

Only 10,000 Vulcans remain...in the words of young Spock himself, "We are an endangered species".

Zachary Quinto was SPECTACULAR AS SPOCK...SIMPLY AMAZING...without even realizing it...I thought I was watching a young Leonard Nimoy (which he himself was fantastic as well)...and I LOVE the fact that it's a more emotional and raw version of Spock...and he gets the beautiful Uhura as well...SPOCK...YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

The rest of the cast were also dead on...I think the young kid who plays Chekov...kinda steals the show in some of his scenes, lol.

Bones was his old self, Sulu turned out to be a baddass...and Scottie was plain HILARIOUS, lol.

Eric Bana as Nero was as scary as Khan...great villain...he made the Romulan bum from Nemesis look like nerdy pigeon poo, lol.

I LOVE THE NEW LOOK OF THE ENTERPRISE...IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT...EAT MY CRUSTY SHORTS...LOL!!!

We also get to see REAL cities of the future...none of this cardboard cutouts of previous the Star Trek flicks.

The special-effects were simply outta this world...more believable than the new Star Wars films.

I also got chills Listening to Leonard Nimoy at the end...with the old school theme music.

This film...while very different...pays homage and respect to Star Trek...JJ Abrams really respects the franchise...and it shows.

What a gorgeous film, well acted, thrilling, fun, amazing...simply amazing.

I HIGHLY recommend you see it on IMAX...it's well worth $14.

I WILL SEE IT AGAIN FOR SURE.

    GO SEE IT NOW!!!

    I give this film a solid A+...10 outta 10.

    Live long...and prosper.

Hec, I have not said anything bad about the movie and have been very open minded about it. Considering what Sci-Fi did to Flash Gordon and BSG, I have often said that I am both impressed and shocked it is staying as close to the original series as it is. That aside, and I have nothing bad to say about Pine, you **** on Shatner and we're gonna have words.

Nothing comes close to Shatner. NOTHING.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I love Shatner...but I never said that Shatner was the inferior Kirk...I just said Pine is a better actor...that's all.

Hi All, Adding to the spoilers!!!!
                Hector,
I'm in no way trying to pull a sour grapes on your thread, but I just got back from seeing it and was not impressed with the story at all. I liked the actors in the movie and the set pieces do not bother me like I had thought they would when the press photos were first released, but I felt it almost again, was a rehash of Nemesis which was a rehash of Khan. There were a couple of questions that I had in my head, too. Where was Kirk's older brother Sam? If the time line changed on Kirk's birthday wouldn't the older brother be there already? The other thing that bothered me was Nimoy Spock not going onto the ship to tell young Spock the real story behind Nero. later in the film he says it was to bring he and Kirk together as friends, but if billions of people on Vulcan had already died and Earth was next...shouldn't he be thinking about the quickest way to get results and not a friendship in a timeline that was already altered (from his perspective)?

                Steve

^^^Plus, if old Spock already knew their was a Federation outpost on Delta Vega, why was he sitting around doing squat when Jimmy T. oh so conveniently comes running into his cave. You would think he would have high tailed it for the outpost to let Starfleet know what was going on?

Oh, by the way Sam was in it. He was the kid standing by the side of the road as Jim whipped by in the Vette. Most of that back story was cut (including a scene with his step father that caused Jim to swipe the car in the first place?).

Other quickie cameos had McCoy calling for Chapel (whom we never see), "Kumar" (from Harold and...) standing on the Bridge at the Science podium station (only in one quick shot), and a blonde haired woman with a beehive that could only have been Janics Rand (she helped McCoy with Pike when he was returned to the ship.).

I never did see where the guy from New Voyages had his cameo. Doohans son was..I think...the guy on the steps that Scotty orders to get back when he fires off the "warp core"--booze mixing vats.

We loved it, but there are definitely story problems that arise from either some trimmed footage or just sloppy writing/directing. The 4-issue countdown comic really clears those up, which makes me hopeful that some of those scenes actually got filmed and will turn up in the director's cut/extended DVD.

Such a great addition to the Star Trek canon!

                      Best. Star Trek. EH-VERRRRR!

This is not just a great Star Trek movie, this is a summer blockbuster. This should give Night at the Museum, Transformers, Harry Potter and G I Joe something to measure up to.

I'm a huge fan of Star Trek - pretty much TOS. I believe that the even ones were better than the odd numbered ones. This breaks that cycle.

If you're looking for a fun popcorn roller-coaster ride of a movie - this is it. If you are a Trek fan. This movie is for you. This does what Casino Royale did for the Bond series. This is Batman Begins.

My wife - who's a real die-hard Trek fan - loved it, too. I was concerned she'd hate it...

From what I've read, at Trek movie, it took in 112 mil globally with around 76 of it from domestic ticket sales. So, it's off to a really good start.
