I read somewhere that Sean Patrick Flannery aka Young Indiana Jones Chronicles was playing Don West and was replaced by Le Blanc mid- way through the film he couldnt go toe to toe with William Hurt on the one on one scenes

Hopefully you'll get a chance to see the original TV show. It's definately a Classic

              Hmmmm....

I give it a resounding "meh." It wasn't much like the original show, and as a standalone it was really typical. "Gee, dad has no time for junior, and there's a CUTSEY ALIEN SIDEKICK?!?!?! YYYEAAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!"

$3? Maybe. It's basically a billion dollar B-Movie. Some of the monstrrs are neat, most of the crew is forgettable. (And not nearly enough get eaten....)

I liked it. It wasn't great, but it was terrible either. Gary Oldman was his usual AWESOME self as Doctor Smith...he of course steals the show!

I watched the original as a little Kid...but can't stand it now!

While I have seen numerous episodes of the original series and have fond memories of it; I have not seen every episode. It didn't really play much where I lived as a kid; at least not at times when I could watch it. I think it might have been one of those 5am rerun shows. I really didn't see a lot of it till probably in the 80's.

                      >It didn't really play much where I lived as a kid;

The tv show played a fair bit here, but I wasn't a fan. Even as a kid I wasn't big on shows that gave a lot of facetime to the kid characters. I much preferred old school Japanese superviolent rubbersuit theater; Ultraman, Johnny Sokko.... stuff like that.

                      >I liked it for what it was.

I dunno about you guys; but I've noticed a few things with the movies I've watched lately:

-Most of 'em fall into the "it's alright" category for me. Not good, not bad.... It helps that I see them on cable, and didn't shell out $10 a pop. But stuff like "Speed Racer" and "Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull" didn't make my eyes bleed or my head hurt, but didn't fire me up so much either.

-Been rewatching the old MST3K films, and I've noticed that a LOT of them are only one or two steps away from being decent flicks. And a lot of them have some interesting ideas. (Like Eegah keeping his mummified ancestors around, and talking to them.)

Whoever made the movie Lost In Space must have never see the original TV show.

The TV show was about family, caring, honesty and fun ... set with a sci-fi / fantasy backdrop.

The movie had non of these qualities.

The new movie was just a bad piece of bland trash.

It had a Really good cast and had some good stuff in it but the story failed. I thought the toys were horrible. Gary Oldman was a great Dr.Smith

That and the voice of Penny Robinson in this movie is enough to make you claw your eyes out.

But for a DVD, it's a nice transfer and a good buy for 3 bucks, if you just use the disc to go to all the eye and ear candy scenes.

That cartoon space monkey in Lost in Space...or whatever the hell it was...probably the worst CGI character in the history of movies, bleh.
