    Movie That SHOULD Be Available.

Setting aside all the old tv shows that should have been released on dvd ages ago, what are some of the movies that aren't available that Should Be.
Today I found out that neither Damnation Alley, nor Warlords of Atlantis (another one of those great McClure movies) are around.
Now I don't mind if something gets a release and then goes out of print.
That's natural. But no release at all?
Heck, from what I can determine, Warlords hasn't even come out on video.

It's not a Movie, but I've been waiting for years for them to release the TV mini-series..."Elvis:The Early Years".

I waited many years for Night of the Comet, and it was finally released on DVD

There was an old movie that for years I thought starred Steve McQueen, but if I remember right I found out it was Lee Majors about a formula racecar driver in a time after gas is gone. He's making a drive across the country scavenging gas from old gas stations. Not sure of the name, but loved it on late night tv. When I looked for it the last time (you'd think I'd remember the name) it was only on video.

              I have one.

Gene Roddenberry's "Planet Earth" .. ie Genesis 2 .... staring John Saxon and Ted Cassidy

The one where woman were masters and men were slaves -- "dinks"

That movie used to be a Saturday afternoon Sci-Fi TV staple, but now it's all but forgotten.

I haven't seen it in over 20 years now.

All of these things discussed are high on my list:

                Genesis 2
                Brave New World
                Planet Eart
Warlords of Atlantis (although I saw this in the 90s so it's still kinda fresh)

I'd love a copy of "Time of the Apes" and there are about a half dozen TV Movies that deserve release.

About 2-ish weeks ago REALLY LATE AT NIGHT, they played Gene Roddenberry's Earth 2

I had high hopes Genesis 2 and Planet Earth would play as well, but so far neither of them aired.

                  BTW,
I never cared for Earth 2
If it would have become a series, it might have had some interesting episodes, but as it stands -- the pilot movie is rather dull and boring.

Earth 2 has nothing to do with Roddenberry, I made the same mistake with that one. It IS boring too.

Roddenberry didn't even have anything to do with "Strange New World' but it was the recycled concepts from the two earlier tv movies.

"Island of Terror" starring Peter Cushing. It was made in the UK in 1966 and has never appeared on DVD to my knowledge. It was a really creepy movie about "silicates", bizarre horta-like creatures created accidentally in a lab. They feed on human bones and leave a trail of boneless corpses scattered about. It gave me the willies back in the day and I'd love to have it on DVD.

                        Really ?

                        Hmmm,
How did I get the idea Earth 2 was a Gene Roddenberry project ? (thinking to myself)

                        Weird

                          >nor Warlords of Atlantis

This was on cable a few months back, and it looked like a remastered version; so if it's NOT on disk, it might be sometime soon.

                          >I waited many years for Night of the Comet,

.... but it's STILL a tough one to find on disk. Same with "The Sword and the Sorcerer."

                          >it was Lee Majors about a formula racecar driver in a time after gas is gone.

AAAH! YEAH! I can't remember the name either, but it was on a few months back too!

                          >I'd love a copy of "Time of the Apes"

                          ....even the MST3K version....

                          >there are about a half dozen TV Movies that deserve release.

-Don't be Afraid of the Dark (which was on a while back, but NOT a remastered version)
                          -The Bermuda Depths
-They DID put "Frankenstein: The True Story" out on disk. I highly recommend it.

                          I'd also like to see:
                          -Psychomania
-The Last Days of Planet Earth
                          -Gorath
                          -The Green Slime

                          Don C.

Yeah, I remember Genesis 2. Didn't that have Mariette Hartley in it and she had two belly-buttons, right? Used to be on all the time.
Whatever happened to John Saxon? He was Maskatron too, right?
Last thing I remember seeing him in was Nightmare on Elm Street.

I hadn't ever heard of this movie (weird because I was a big SMDM fan as a kid) until last year. It's called The Last Chase.

Long overdue are releases of 50's sci-fi classics It Conquered the World and Invasion of the Saucer Men.

                              .
