    Old cartoon show question....

    Howdy folks.

Working on a little project here, and need to take a little unscientific and informal poll:

Do you remember the old Rocket Robin Hood cartoon?

Does it still air in your area/country/or otherwise?

If it isnt currently on the air in your area, do you recall when it last aired?

Anyone else think Garfield just isnt that funny anymore? (Added so those who dont know what the heck a Rocket Robin is can participate )

I know here in Canada it pops up from time to time on Teletoon Retro....but what about elsewhere?

    Thanks for your help!

I grew up in NW Jersey and got all the NYC channels.
I don't remember it ever airing (I could be wrong)

I never heard of the cartoon until I heard you guys talk about it on Mego Museum.

Yeah, I'm pretty much a cartoon geek, but hadn't heard of Rocket Robin Hood until I got here.

Garfield - once his look in the strip changed from blob-ish to cute, the humor went that way, too.
      It's all good!

I sorta remember it. Seems like WGN or Channel 32 aired it on the Lincoln's or Washington's birthday kids cartoon marathon. Yeah back in the day when we had both holidays. Illinois schools took Lincoln's off but had to attend on Washington's unless we got snowed in.

Rocket Robin Hood was just what it sounds like...The Merry Men in Outer Space. An ok show, not a classic by any means. I think it was mostly syndicated and was Canadian produced if I recall correctly.
I remember watching this when I would visit my Grandmother's house in the summer. It was on Channel 17(?) from Philly on an afternoon show...maybe around 1969-70.

There's a bunch of stuff here on youtube:

I grew up outside of Toronto, it aired 24 hours a day. The Peterbourgh channel would play it and the film was so old the characters would have that "projector talk" bbbbbbbrobinbbbb

CityTV used to play it at lunchtime alongside Space Angel and moreland/latchford shorts. They were first channel I remember including those annoying "Meet Friar Tuck" spots into the show. Other channels gassed those.

The last time I saw it was in 1991 or so on CKVR, we watched it in our dorm room.

                          Hmmmm....

They started showing them a year or so ago on Canadian cable; and they're digitally remastered versions. (I smell a boxed set someday....)

I'm surprised that you guys never heard of Rocket Robin Hood. It was produced by Krantz Films and directed by Ralph Bakshi. You may have heard of another cartoon they did?

A Canadian, Paul Soles, did the lead character's voice...
